The Jehovah’s Witness church held a three-day annual convention at the weekend to show how vital Jesus Christ is to the life of each witness.
The focus of the convention was on Jesus’s life, ministry and future activities.
The event – called the Christ District Convention – was held at Jehova’s Witnesses Assembly in Midrand.
“The convention explained the fascinating details on the principles Jesus Christ taught and the value of applying them today and in our daily lives,” said the statement.
The theme was based on the book of 1 Peter 2:21, and was about the need to follow closely on Jesus Christ’s footsteps.
About 168000 members attended the convention. District conventions were held in 69 cities and towns.
The services were divided into English, Zulu and Xhosa to cater for all those in attendance.
