Perhaps surprisingly among other religious minorities, the Jehovah’s Witnesses say they have not felt the effects of the authorities’ new policy. “So far, at least, we have had no problems in Kyrgyzstan,” Fyodor Zhitnik, who oversees Jehovah’s Witness congregations across Central Asia from neighbouring Kazakhstan, told Forum 18 on 25 September.
