Polish Catholics warned against talking to Jehovah’s Witnesses

Warsaw, 10 October (ENI)–Roman Catholics in Poland have been warned against conversing with Jehovah’s Witnesses, a religious movement which has spread rapidly in the country since the collapse of communist rule 17 years ago. “It is important to be aware who we are talking to – members of a non-Christian community who do not recognise the dogmas of Holy Trinity or Incarnation and propose a false path to life and salvation,” the church’s Poznan archdiocese said. The Jehovah’s Witnesses were founded in the United States in 1872 and since then have spread around the world, grouped in an association called the Watchtower Society. The movement’s authorised information site (www.jw-media.org) says Jehovah’s Witnesses are “members of a worldwide Christian religion” who “base their beliefs solely on the principles found in the Holy Bible and view first-century Christianity as their model”.
