BILLINGS – More than five thousand members of the Christian congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses met at MetraPark this weekend. The event drew people from across Montana, Wyoming and the Dakotas. The program is part of a nation-wide annual event featuring noted speakers and demonstrations to teach members of the church. Members say this weekend focused on young people, and the challenges they face Sunday.
They say the event is important to spread a common message across the country. “As Jehovah’s Witnesses, we like to be united with our brothers across the country. And be able to have the same teaching and spiritual guidance for everyone so when we get to these conventions were all taught and instructed the same way,” says Michael Jenkins, with Rimrock Congregation.
More than a million people were expected to participate across the United States.
