Jehovah’s Witnesses regional convention in Birmingham
The regional convention of the Jehovah’s Witnesses is meeting today and Sunday at the BJCC Arena, with more than 7,400 in attendance.
A mass baptism is planned today in the arena, where a temporary swimming pool will be set up for immersion of converts. The convention focuses on Bible teaching for members of Kingdom Halls in Alabama and Mississippi. Other regional Jehovah’s Witness conventions are being held around the country.
“We are emphasizing the direction of God’s spirit,” said convention spokesman Nick Patterson. “The scriptures provide us with accurate and reliable guidance. It makes us better even in our secular lives.”
